Our History
St Alphege's Anglican Church in Pietermaritzburg, established in 1914, has undergone several reconstructions, with the current building consecrated in 1980

We recognise that with diversity comes the possibility of misunderstanding and the potential for hurt.
Our Mission
Our mission is to use care and discretion in the way we speak and act to reflect Christ's light in everything we do and say.

MINISTERIES
All are welcome to join in our Ministeries.
Choir
We have talented individuals who meet on a Saturday at 3pm to practice for the following Sunday Mass.
Flower Arrangers
This team use their creative talents enhance the worship environment, reflecting the delicate beauty of God’s creation for all congregants.
Servers Guild
Our servers guild consists of enthusiastic youngsters, ranging from 3 years old, who meet on Saturday afternoons at 3 pm for servers practice.
Childrens Ministery
We have a lively Children's Ministery that meets every Sunday during our Sunday morning Mass.
Lay Ministery
Our dedicated lay ministers contribute significantly to the spiritual and practical needs of our congregations, collaborating with clergy to serve the parish community.
ANSOC
ANSOC provides a supportive “home away from home” for students, offering worship, Bible studies, workshops, conferences, and community outreach programs.

Sunday Services
Our Sunday Mass is Traditional, and we meet at 07H30 every Sunday.
Tuesday Prayers
We meet on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday at 09H00, for a Bible Study and Quiet Morning.
Wednesday Service
We meet at 09H30 on Wednesday mornings for our midweek Mass.

Saturday Practice Times
Our Servers Guild meet at 1pm and our Choir meets at 3pm to practice for Mass the next day and for special occasions.

As a fundraising initiative, we are hosting a Pietermaritzburg City Orchestra on Saturday, 18 May 2024 at 14H00 to 15H00.
